The Croq’Anime festival offers this year an eclectic, original and daring programming from the 7th until the 9th of September 2012, hosted by the Théâtre de Ménilmontant, in the 20th arrondissement of Paris.

Full of emotions, delirious or tinged with poetry, productions of reknown artists or beginners, professionals or amateurs, will transport you across the world and many other universes. Charmed by screenings of short films, free and open to all, adult and youth programming, the public will also have the opportunity to take a closer look at the world of animated movies with lectures and cartes blanches offered to professionals of the animated film. The festival will also be an opportunity to discover the work of tomorrow’s talents, with students of Gobelins, Supinfocom and many others.

This festival is an opportunity for both professionals and amateurs alike, the films have been selected by an «Appel à films», regardless of origin, format (except a 15 minutes time-limit) and techniques. Designed for the international, the festival invites the creative from around the world during sessions one hundred percent dedicated to foreign short films. A different view of life, a different approach to things, definitely … something else!

Croq’Anime also presents a special session for an adult audience, covering strong, sensual and engaged topics, proving once again that animation is not intended only to the younger. But youth will be not forgotten, with screenings dedicated to schools and young audiences. These educational sessions will be an ideal time to discover animation in all its forms and techniques. Finally, the festival is happy to arrange a session dedicated to the Workshop of l’Ecole de l’image, Gobelins and the initiative Cartooning for Peace, created by Plantu, in the presence of the cartoonist Aurel himself.

The closing ceremony, and its traditional awards, will be held on Sunday evening preceded by a carte blanche of the AFCA, the Association of French Animated Cinema. Composed of professionals, the jury will then award the Grand Prix of the festival. Also, an Amateur Award will be presented by the City Council of the XXth arrondissement. Finally, the audience will be involved, and their vote will reward the winner of the Audience Award for a film in the competition.
