Situated about 40 km west of Paris, you can find about 800 animals, 130 botanical in 150 hectors or 8 kilometers of land where animals can roam freely. You need a car to visit the animals in the safari section of the park.
After visiting the animals don’t miss the Castle, the interactive Labyrinth, the Botanical garden, the Mystery Island with suspension bridge, and the wooden pyramid.
The 16th century castle belonged to Raoul Moreau’s who was an alchemist as well as the Treasurer of the King of France. He had a vision and hired the great Renaissance architect Philibert de L’Orme to build a perfectly proportioned and positioned castle in order for him to continue his esoteric studies.
The castle was built to be in perfect harmony with the forces of Nature and the center arch of the chateau is positioned to the sun at Summer and Winter solstices.
Counts of La Panouse the owner of the Castle still lives here and has opened part of his home as a museum to the zoo visitors.
Please note form mid November to the end of January the Castle Drawing Rooms are open only to groups.

Take the motorway A 13 Porte d’Auteuil.
At the junction A13, A12 take the A12 then the N12 towards Dreux.
Exit Thoiry, follow D76 D11 direction Thoir
